IPAC hosted a workshop "Japan-China Policy Research Workshop: On the Road to Paris" on July 2, 2015.
On the road to Paris: enhancing common understanding of major emitters’ policies
Organized by Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan
Co-organized by Energy Research Institute (ERI), China and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC
Date: 2nd July, 2015
Venue: China People’s Palace (4th floor, conference room 23)
Objective:
- To share the best practices of, and lessons learned from the mitigation policies and measures (possibly including INDCs) in China, EU, Japan, and US
- To understand the current situation of UNFCCC negotiation on post-2020 framework
- To discuss possible transparency scheme on mitigation and a reporting system on adaptation for post-2020
- To consider the possibilities of international and regional cooperation to meet the long-term goal and launch the 2015 agreement
- To give inputs from researchers on additional policies and measures taken by major emitters to bridge the emission gap
